The power wheels are a great toy for kids, but they can be frustrating to the parents whose kids just want to go faster.
The good news is that there are some easy modifications you can do to modify your power wheel and make it go faster. But be aware of the risk of losing control when you are going at those speeds.
Can I Modify A Power Wheels?
Yes, there are a lot of different ways to modify power wheels. The first thing you can do is get higher quality, longer-lasting batteries for your electric car. If the motor is geared, it will only spin at a certain speed. However, gears can make your power wheels go faster or slower depending on which gear you choose to use. If you’re looking for more of a speedy ride, then an ungeared type of motor with gears might be right for you. However if you want to take it a bit slower, then you’ll want to gear your motor.
The ungeared type of motor has no gears and is much simpler for beginners because they do not need to worry about gearing.
Geared motors are great if you’re looking for more speed but still require some patience in order to figure out how to get it to work well.

The easiest way to install the controller is by using double sided tape but make sure it’s not so sticky that it will rip apart your power wheels when you remove the old and new controllers later on, as this would be very difficult to fix.
Connect the black wire to the negative terminal on your battery and then connect the red wire to the positive terminal.
You’ll want to use wire connectors for the final connection.
Connect one end of a long piece of wire in your power wheels, using the connector and then connect it with another set up on your controller which should look something like this:
* Black wire connector goes on the negative terminal of your battery.
* Red wire connector to positive terminals of your power steel.
* Connect a long piece of extension wire, about 18 inches and if you need any help figuring out where it should go in your car or how to make sure it doesn’t become disconnected while riding, consult the manual.
* All the wires should be connected together in a chain, with one end of the extension wire on your power steel and the other end attached to your controller.
Remember to use connectors when connecting all these pieces or it can come apart while you’re riding.
Now that everything is set up correctly, turn on your power steel by pressing the “on” button.
After you have turned it on, press and hold down the acceleration pedal in your car. The power will kick in as soon as the motor starts to turn. So release the accelerator after that happens for a little bit of time until it begins going faster.
